Net-Zero Urgency in Taiwan: Wrapping Up Hsinchu Science Park Forum
What does it really mean to build a net-zero future? — Three industry experts pondered at the Hsinchu Science Park (HSP) Net-Zero Carbon Forum last Monday (April 21).

Every April 22, Earth Day asks the world to look inward. To examine how we live, what we waste, and what we leave behind. 2025 marks the 55th year of this global reminder: we are part of something vast yet fragile, and things we throw away don’t just vanish. Neither does our responsibility.
Happening soon!
Join us at the Net-Zero Carbon Forum in Hsinchu Science Park to explore how your business can stay powered and sustainable—despite rising energy risks.
Last Friday (4/11), AMPOWER and our partner Rehlko gathered at W Hotel Taipei with one goal: to connect. Not just to showcase what we do, but to understand what others are building, facing, and imagining. We can’t miss this important annual event!
AMPOWER’s second lecture this semester just wrapped last Wednesday! This semester-long industrial-academia collaboration with Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and three top universities in Taiwan (NTU, NTUST, NTNU) is an incredible opportunity to connect us with the talents and minds of the future.
The AI boom is pushing data centers to their limits—higher power consumption, rising energy costs, and mounting sustainability pressures. The question isn’t just how to scale up, but how to do it smarter.
On March 14, engineers from the largest semiconductor company in Taiwan took part in an immersive training at our Tainan office: a deep dive into the mechanics of diesel generators, their operation, and the vital procedures for their maintenance. This is about empowering our partners with the expertise to keep power systems running at peak performance.
When lights flicker, there’s a hesitation in the current. Almost imperceptible… until it isn’t.
In high-stake, high-energy consuming facilities such as semiconductor fabs, manufacturing plants, hospitals, and data centers, even a momentary disruption can lead to costly consequences—every second of uncertainty translates to, often, irreversible risks. For these industries, emergency power backup systems are non-negotiable.
Yet, too often, the transition between grid power and backup generators is rarely seamless. Conventional transfers leave gaps—small delays that disrupt precision-driven industries. Some facilities attempt to mitigate this with costly load testing, burning fuel to ensure their emergency systems work when needed. Others rely on complex switching configurations that, despite best efforts, are not immune to transient failures.
Energy risks are real. But so are the solutions!
In Taiwan’s race toward 2050 net-zero emissions, reliable power isn’t just a technical concern, it’s a business necessity. At the Hsinchu Science Park Net-Zero Carbon Forum, three industry experts will break down what that really means: practical strategies to keep businesses powered and sustainable during the current energy crisis.
It is a wrap! At the 2024 Healthcare+ Taiwan Expo, AMPOWER and Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital highlighted our commitment to sustainability excellence. For four dazzling days, our booth was not just a showcase—it was a crossroad where healthcare executives and professionals gathered to explore how our CHP systems can make healthcare more efficient!
